All the way from the UK, award-winning wildlife artist Alan Woollett is jetting to 3 cities in the US this August to teach you his techniques for drawing stunning, realistic birds. Alan is the author of Bird Art: Drawing Birds using Graphite and Coloured Pencils – and the Amazon reviews speak for themselves!  The breathtaking detail of his work and the quality of his instructions make this 2-day workshop a once in a lifetime opportunity for CP artists here in the states.

Our CPSA Chapter 210 has the honor of sponsoring this event:

Ranjini Venkatachari, another of our awesome CPSA 210 members, will be conducting a 4-hour colored pencil workshop at Artists & Craftsman in Berkeley –  2573 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, CA 94704 on Saturday April 21, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. She will be demonstrating her unique colored pencil technique of combining Neocolor II and colored pencil on ampersand pastelboard. You will work on an Origami dove and will learn the techniques of creating a realistic paper texture using colored pencils.
Bonus:  You also get to learn how to fold this dove and take home an Origami dove with you!

This is a compressed, full-day type workshop that includes everything from the board, neocolors, bristle brush, sticky putty and Prismacolor pencils. You only need to bring anything you might find useful for a colored pencil class (see Update below for items to bring to the workshop). She is even giving away free hand-held pencil sharpeners courtsey of Caran d’Ache.
